Britney Spears’ memoir will be released on October 24th. It’s also about her abortion.
Britney Spears opens up about her decision to have an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake in her new memoir “The Woman in Me” (released October 24). Fans of the 41-year-old then claim to have discovered a new meaning in her song “Everytime” from 2003.
Justin Timberlake wanted an abortion
Spears, who dated Timberlake from 1998 to 2002, describes the “torturing” decision in her new book. In excerpts published by People, Spears suggests that she had the abortion because Timberlake wanted her to. He told her that they were “not ready for a baby in their lives and that they were far too young.”
Is the 200 song “Everytime” about the loss of the baby?
Since that revelation on Tuesday (October 17), fans on social media have been speculating whether the song “Everytime,” long thought to be about her relationship with Timberlake, also references the ended pregnancy.
In the song’s chorus, Spears sings, “And every time I try to fly, I fall / Without my wings I feel so small / I think I need you, baby / And every time / When I see you in my dreams.” / I see your face, you’re haunting me / I think I need you, baby.”
In the accompanying 2004 music video, Spears crosses a hospital room where a woman has just given birth and another has died. One of the last shots shows a close-up of the newborn.
