On Monday, around a quarter past seven, an attack took place at Saincteletteplein, near the inner ring road around Brussels, in which two Swedish fans were killed. Shortly afterwards, the perpetrator claimed the facts as an act in the name of IS. According to the Belgian security services, this is clearly a terrorist act.
In the Brussels region, the terror level has been raised to level 4. France, where an attack was recently committed on a teacher in a school in Arras, is also not giving up. French Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmarin – himself from Tourcoing – has announced stricter controls on the border with Belgium. It is not yet clear at this time – Monday evening – what the concrete consequences of this will be on the ground.
