The socialist candidate will also meet this Friday with the Junts spokesperson in Congress, Míriam Nogueras
The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, met this Friday with the EH Bildu spokespersons in the Congress and the Senate, for the first time that he has held a direct meeting with representatives of this political force in search of support for his investiture.
On this day, Sánchez closes the series of meetings that he had initially planned to try to obtain the necessary support to be re-elected president and he had two appointments on his agenda, with EH Bildu and with Junts per Catalunya.
The first of these meetings, which took place in Congress, was with the representatives of Bildu, and the meeting was attended by its spokesperson in this chamber, Mertxe Aizpurúa, and in the Senate, Gorka Elejabarrieta.
On the socialist side, the acting Minister of Finance was also present, Maria Jesus Montero, and the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán.
Until now there had not been a photo of Sánchez meeting with Bildu leaders, since in the previous legislature the contacts for his investiture starred them the then spokesperson for the socialist group in Congress, Adriana Lastra.
It was on December 17, 2019 when Lastra led the socialist delegation that met for the first time officially with Bildu in Congress.
The aberztale formation, with its general coordinator, Arnaldo Otegi, leading these messages, has been expressing its willingness to support Sánchez’s investiture to stop what they call “the reactionary bloc”, in reference to PP and Vox.
In addition to EH Bildu, The socialist candidate is going to meet this Friday with the spokesperson for Together in Congress, Míriam Nogueras.
