Süle surprises with a statement about his favorite stadium

The current BVB star Niklas Süle has already played for three clubs in his professional career: Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern Munich and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. With these three clubs he was active in numerous stadiums around the football world. But which of them was actually his favorite stadium? Süle’s answer is surprising.

Niklas Süle answered many questions refreshingly openly and honestly in the “DAZN” barrage of questions, a format that is all about quick and spontaneous answers.

When asked by the streaming provider, among other things, which stadium in the Bundesliga he found best, Süle, who has been playing for Borussia Dortmund since summer 2022, immediately named the “Signal Iduna Park”, BVB’s home stadium.

But because his own stadium was not allowed to be named, Süle had to rethink. His choice did not fall on the impressive Allianz Arena, in which he played for five years in front of around 75,000 spectators before joining the black and yellow, but rather another stadium from his footballing past, which is probably the favorite of many Bundesliga fans would have ended up far back in the ranking: the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim, with around 30,000 seats.

The home of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is not necessarily considered a cauldron among football fans and is also rarely sold out. It is quite surprising that Süle chose this arena, but it probably has something to do with his past.

This is exactly where the defender took his first steps as a professional. In May 2013 he celebrated his league debut in the venue then known as the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

Overall, Süle, who rose from Hoffenheim’s youth ranks, was under contract with TSG until the end of June 2017 before he ended up at BVB via FC Bayern, where he is under contract until 2026.

Süle has played 47 games for Borussia so far. He scored two goals and four assists.
