Preußen Münster convincingly won its home game in the 3rd league against Aue. Essen, on the other hand, lost in Unterhaching.

Prussia Münster has in the 3rd league against Erzgebirge Aue on Wednesday (October 4th, 2023) managed a liberating blow and won 4-0 (2-0). This means that Münster improved to eleventh place in the table and is now four points ahead of the relegation places. Aue remains in the top half, but lost places and is now ninth. Daniel Kyerewaa (12th) and Malik Batmaz (34th/51st/69th) scored the goals on Hammer Landstrasse.

Münster with a strong first half.

The hosts started the game furiously and with a lot of pressure. After a corner, Kyerewaa shot from around 17 meters, the ball landed behind the line despite goalkeeper Martin Männel’s attempted save. It was also the hosts who set the next pinprick: Jano ter Horst ran a long ball and his sharp cross was used by the batmaz who had moved up.

Shortly afterwards the decision was almost made, but a cross pass to Kyerewaa was cleared at the last moment (38th). Shortly before the break, Aue came dangerously in front of the goal, but was denied by Max Schulze Niehues in the Prussian goal (44′). Then Kyerewaa was on the move again: the outside post prevented Aue’s knockout strike seconds before the half-time whistle.

Batmaz with a three-pack

Batmaz then got it six minutes after the restart after a nice pass. Prussia continued to rely on its strong defense and a quick transition game. Despite many efforts, Aue couldn’t think of enough to shorten it again.

Fetsch shoots food

Wednesday evening was significantly less successful for Rot-Weiss Essen. At SpVgg Unterhaching, RWE lost 0:3 (0:2). Bayern’s match winner was striker Mathias Fetsch, who almost single-handedly defeated Essen with a four-pack (28th/45th/57th/89th).

The Essen team fell back to 13th place in the table and is four points ahead of the relegation places. Unterhaching is now in seventh place.
