Pepe Rodríguez will be one of the protagonists of Telecinco’s new bet for his prime time. The chef will leave the kitchens of ‘Masterchef’ on TVE’s La 1 for a day to be one of the guests of the first season of ‘The musical of your life’which premiered last Wednesday on the Mediaset network.
In addition to Ana Obregón, protagonist of the premiere, Rodríguez will see her life made musical in this new format produced by Globomedia (‘Zapando’, ‘El intermedia’), like other well-known faces such as Tamara Falcó, Lolita Flores, Paulina Rubio, Loles León and Manuel Díaz ‘El Cordobés’.

After his words, the producer of the format broadcast by TVE released a statement to apologize for what happened: “Given the statements made yesterday at the media presentation of ‘Masterchef Celebrity 8’ regarding the so-called ‘Rubiales Case’, Shine Iberia would like to clarify that it deeply regrets the unfortunate comments that occurred during interviews yesterday., in no case justifies them, and strongly condemns any type of sexual violence. We apologize”.

‘The musical of your life’ is directed by Elías Segovia, an expert in the production of musical and stage shows and with a long career also in large television formats.
Juan Carlos Fisher is in charge of the artistic direction of the musical numbers. Director, producer, author, adapter and scriptwriter of theater and musical theater, he has launched and directed more than a dozen musicals in Peru, where he has also directed more than 30 plays. In Spain he is the director, since its premiere, of the successful musical ‘Mamma Mia’.
The team is made up of Jordi Vives, a director with several Goya Awards galas, ‘Operación Triunfo’, Eurovision specials and the Benidorm Fest, as some of his most notable works; the composer Lucas Vidal, as musical supervisor and the team of scriptwriters responsible for creating the lyrics specifically designed for each guest.
‘The musical of your life’ has a singing and dancing company whose members come from the world of musicals and have a solid track record in this genre. These twelve artists dance and sing live on the stage of the program, with the singer and arranger Lara Alcázar as coach vocal and with the experienced choreographer Borja Rueda, in charge of the choreographies.
More than 600 costumes, almost a hundred wigs, 48 unpublished lyrics with their corresponding choreographies and sets… The ‘The Musical of Your Life’ team has been immersed for more than three months in the complicated task of documentation, recreation and setting necessary to relive in each number the most memorable moments of each guest’s existence with the greatest fidelity. A staging thought out in detail and based on videos, photographs and interviews provided by people close to the protagonists and rescued from the newspaper archive to make each performance an unforgettable and unrepeatable moment.
‘The musical of your life’ is the adaptation of ‘The Musical of your Life’, a Belgian format released with great success in this country in 2021 with a first season that reached 36% audience share. The program is currently preparing its third edition in Belgium, its first season in Germany and has been acquired for adaptation in more than ten territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
In its brief history, the format has been awarded the prestigious Rose D’Or in 2022, the International Award for Best Factual Entertainment at MIPTV 2022 and the C21 Award for Best Factual Format.
