The amount represents a 17-fold increase since Michael Jordan became the majority owner of the Hornets 13 years ago.. It was the second-largest franchise sale in NBA history.
Successful on several fronts
The owner of the Washington Wizards, Ted Leonsis attributed Michael Jordan’s wealth to his success as an athlete, Nike endorser and NB team owner.TO.
“Michael is one of the few people who has been successful three times. Many entrepreneurs do it once. They get a big win, take their winnings, fold and we never hear from them again, or they try something a second time and it doesn’t work. “He’s definitely had three mega hits,” Leonsis said.
Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Tiger Woods are the only three athletes who have become billionaires. Jordan still owns a small minority stake in the Hornets.
Diversified businesses and new Air Jordans
His other business ventures include car dealerships, equity investments, restaurants, and a tequila brand.. Leonsis predicted that Jordan will play a more active role in NASCAR. The latter collaborated with NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin and founded 23XI Racing three years ago.
The news that Bulls legend Michael Jordan made the Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans coincided with the return of their Jordan 11 “Space Jam”. The sneakers with the elegant black color with the blue “Jumpman” logo by Michael Jordan will hit stores next summer.
