Sander Lantinga responded last night in the talk show Khalid & Sophie to the fact that Coen Swijnenberg and he were immediately removed from the channel by Radio 538. “Logical, perhaps.”

It is more than logical that Coen Swijnenberg and Sander Lantinga no longer felt much loyalty to Radio 538: the two were rather roughly separated by the radio station last year. Since they prefer to work together as a duo, it was not that difficult for new competitor JOE to bring them in for the daily morning show.

Morning person?

Sander is extremely happy with this opportunity, he says in the talk show Khalid & Sophie. “Yes, we get a new chance for a new adventure. We are going to do the morning show on a new channel, which I think has been on the air for 2.5 months now: JOE, Q’s sister. We will eventually be allowed to do the morning show there.”

Is he a morning person? “Well, I have four children, so you naturally become one. I used to be mainly a night person and I am becoming less and less so. Nowadays I enjoy going to bed at 10:15 PM with a good book. That really wasn’t an issue in the past. Then it always had to be 1:30 am, otherwise I wouldn’t have been alive.”

‘Straight to bed!’

That is no longer the case, according to Sander. “That is shifting. So if I can go to bed earlier, I can also get up earlier, so that will be fine. Then it’s just watching Khalid & Sophie and then just going to bed!”

Radio 538 has chosen to stop Coen & Sander immediately, which means they will not be heard on the radio in the coming months. “They have chosen to take us off the channel. That is their choice and I have to accept that,” the radio DJ responds.

Logically

Sander doesn’t have much trouble with it. “Yes, there is something to be said for that and I actually understand it, because of course we are going to the competitor. Then they act this way, so perhaps it makes sense.”

Will he continue to be paid during his long vacation? “Well, we have a competitive edge… That still needs to be discussed… I can’t say too much about that, but I don’t understand next week at JOE. Let me put it this way.”
