The FC Bayern Munich footballers celebrated their first win of the young season after their Bundesliga false start.
The defending champions, who had not gotten beyond a 2-2 draw against SC Freiburg at the start, defeated 1. FC Köln 2-0 (1-0) on Monday and improved to third place behind the twice-winning team TSG Hoffenheim and VfL Wolfsburg.
Shortly before the break, Pernille Harder (45th) put the favorites in the lead. The Dane scored her first goal in the Bayern jersey with a header from Giulia Gwinn’s cross. National player Linda Dallmann (57th) increased after an assist from English European champion and runner-up World Champion Georgia Stanway.
The injury to national player Sydney Lohmann was a cause for concern, as she was taken off the field with ankle pain just seven minutes after being substituted on and was unable to continue playing.
