Police removed four people from a train on Sunday afternoon. The train was on its way from Den Bosch to Utrecht. The four had created a threatening situation on the train and, according to a police spokesperson, several passengers felt so anxious that they reported the incident to the police.
The train was then stopped at the Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn station. This train normally does not stop there. The police responded with several units and a helicopter. The officers wore bulletproof vests. The four were thus removed from the train. All four have been arrested.
Officers then went through the entire train to ensure that all suspects had been arrested. At that time, no one was allowed to leave the train and the platform was cleared.
It is not yet clear who they are and what exactly they did or said. They are interrogated and witnesses from the train can also tell their stories. In any case, there were no weapons involved, the spokesperson says, but there may have been threatening language.
