The historic paintings, a barometer and a chandelier that were stolen in an art theft in Medemblik at the beginning of September have still not been found. The works of art were hanging in the former town hall, but not anymore for a few weeks. The police are investigating the robbery and the municipality is still asking for the golden tip.

The former town hall of the municipality of Medemblik was broken into a few weeks ago, and many objects were stolen. In the video above, councilor Jeroen Broeders takes us into the now empty building.

He is “devastated by the disappearance”. “The paintings that hung here until recently were really connected to this building. They belonged to this building. They still belong to Medemblik.
They were paintings of great historical value, especially those of King Radboud. Perhaps not really of enormous financial value, but of great inestimable historical value”

Research shows that more may have been taken from the former town hall. “I am therefore very pleased that the police are paying a lot of attention to it. And are busy investigating where these unique objects are,” the councilor continues.
The municipality calls on people who have tips about the burglary to contact the police. “The municipality of Medemblik has therefore also offered a reward of ten thousand euros. We hope that this will really lead to the return of the objects.”
