When we talk about cocktails we assume that we are going to find different styles, nuances and flavors.

But in this great family of flavors there are some cocktails with a lot of history and origin, this is the case of the Negroni.

Legend has it that back in Italy, in Florence, the great Fosco Scarselli had a beautiful task from his friend Count Camillo Negroni: “to modify his El Americano drink.” Part of that recipe would be to replace the soda with gin to give more character to the cocktail later renamed after its creator “Negroni.”

Its unmistakable flavors have transcended time and generations.

We are located on the shores of the South Atlantic, the city of Mar del Plata, The Pearl of the Atlantic. A city with strength and beauty, where in its beginnings it brought together a large migratory flow from Europe, Italians, Spanish and French.

All these movements of traditions have been going through over the years.

In 2016, a version of the Negroni was born in Mar del Plata by bartender Juan Roda. It was inspired by a Storm, those times of the year where the sea shows us its immensity, the coast is visited to see such movement of waves, rain and winds, a gale.

That inspiration was transformed into a Vendaval Negroni, a cocktail with a lot of character, spice and bitter notes.

Today, collaboratively with the first white beverage distillery in the General Pueyrredón district, Destilería Kalmar, you can enjoy this version of Vendaval, an option that brings together intensity, flavors and the imprint of a storm on the Sea.

Negroni Week is an event that encourages the creation of new versions, as well as showing the classic recipe by Camillo Negroni.

From September 18 to 24 in the city of Mar del Plata you can enjoy different meetings to enjoy these flavors.
