Pistorius – Additional aid to Ukraine has a volume of 400 million euros

Berlin (Reuters) – Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth 400 million euros, according to “Bild”.

“We are supplying additional ammunition: explosive ammunition, mortar ammunition, mine rockets,” the SPD politician told the paper. They will also help with protected vehicles and mine clearance systems. “But we also have an eye on the approaching winter: We will send clothing, but also electricity and heat generators. In total, the package will be worth 400 million euros.”

According to Pistorius, additional Ukrainian soldiers are also being trained in Germany. By the end of the year there would be 10,000. The minister confirmed that there was no decision yet on the Taurus cruise missiles requested by Ukraine. Every arms delivery must be weighed very carefully. Many political, legal, military and technical aspects need to be clarified. It is currently being clarified whether Taurus can even be used without the support of Bundeswehr soldiers.
