The hip hop releases of the week at a glance – how do ZAVET, Majan and Diddy do?
It’s getting hot. This week’s hip hop releases are playing with fire. ZAVET imagines fiery campaigns of revenge against her ex and Majan flashes thoughts of his youth in the small town. Diddy, on the other hand, is obviously passionate about love and releases his first record in ten years with his THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID.
ZAVET – “Benzer”
Who hasn’t wanted to burn down their ex’s car? The German newcomer ZAVET definitely. In her new single “Benzer,” the rapper passionately describes her planned revenge campaign, in a mix of rap and pop. You could already feel the anger towards her ex on the track “Scheiss auf,” which was released on ZAVET’s debut album HUSKY AUGEN in April 2023. The German-Siberian illustrates it again in detail on her current single. From October, the Mannheim-based artist will be visiting five German cities on her “Husky” club tour.

Majan – “Piccolo”
Majan also seems to be in the mood to burn something. On his new track “Piccolo” he takes listeners on a journey back in time to his youth in Schorndorf (near Stuttgart). Everything in the city was “piccolo”, meaning small. He, on the other hand, would never have fit into the orderly city. In the accompanying music video, he underlines this mood with warm, nostalgic images. The rapper builds the beat together with Kilian & Jo and BLYNE. In November Majan plays the second half of his tour with eight shows.

Diddy – THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID
It is Diddy’s first record in more than ten years. For the 23 tracks of THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID, the rapper brings artists like Justin Bieber, HER and John Legend on board. The song “Another One Of Me”, which was created in collaboration with The Weeknd, French Montana and 21 Savage, was also accompanied by a music video. Just two days after its release on September 15th, the record reached number one on the US R&B album charts.
