Ex-Bundesliga professional Peniel Mlapa and Al-Nasr SC are going their separate ways. The contract with the current bottom team in the UAE Pro League was terminated by mutual consent. The 32-year-old striker moved to Al-Nasr from league rivals Ittihad Kalba FC in January, for whom he contributed one goal and one assist in 15 games.
Mlapa, who played 79 games (eight goals) in the Bundesliga for Hoffenheim and Gladbach, moved from VVV-Venlo to the Emirates in 2019 for 2.5 million euros. There he scored 32 goals in 81 appearances in the UAE Pro League. However, the teams are only allowed to field a maximum of six foreigners over the age of 23.
