US bonds: Slight losses at the start of the week

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – US government bonds started the week with slight price losses on Monday. The futures contract for ten-year bonds (T-Note Future) fell by 0.14 percent to 109.77 points at the start of trading. The yield on ten-year bonds was 4.28 percent.

The start of the week on the bond market promises to be quiet. There are no decisive economic data pending, nor are there any monetary policy statements from the ranks of the US central bank Fed. The background to the silence is the usual period of silence before interest rate meetings of the central bank.

The Federal Reserve will make its next interest rate decision in a week and a half. The markets are currently expecting a break in interest rates. A rate hike is not fully priced in for the following meeting at the beginning of November. It cannot therefore be ruled out that the key interest rate peak in the USA has already been reached.
