Micky van de Ven will be in the Dutch match selection on Sunday evening. The 22-year-old defender from Wormer is the replacement for the injured Lutsharel Geertruida. Van de Ven was still in the stands against Greece last Thursday.
Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich is normally Geertruida’s replacement. The kick-off between Ireland and the Dutch team is at 8.45 pm Dutch time. With a win, Koeman’s team will take a nice step towards next summer’s European Championships in Germany.
France is the leader in group B with 15 points from five matches. The Netherlands follows in second place with 6 points from three games. Greece is third with 6 points after four matches and Ireland is in fourth place with 3 points from four matches. Numbers 1 and 2 qualify directly for the European Championship.
