THEThe curtain falls on the lagoon. Inaugurated last August 30th, the80th edition of the Venice International Film Festival has come to an end after ten days full of screenings, events, stars and red carpets. At the Lido, the seventh art shares the stage with the fashion, undisputed co-protagonist of the event. The looks of the 2023 Venice Film Festival, in fact, enchanted and made us dream (and sometimes turn up our noses), between provocative silhouettes, Haute Couture creations and surprising dresses. The red carpet of the final evening of the Show was no exception, the last appointment for outfits with a high level of glamour.

Venice Film Festival 2023, the looks of the final evening

The godmother lit up the red carpet of the final evening of Venezia 80 Caterina Murino, which during the exhibition ranged between princely, sensual and contemporary looks. The final outfit, signed Armani Priveboasts aallure romantic and feminine, thanks to the silhouette with wide skirt and bustier with deep sweetheart neckline. The extra touch? An unforgettable touch of electric blue, unexpected and original, further elevated by the precious jewels of Cartier.

However, the most popular shade on the red carpet of the final evening was the black, a guarantee of refinement and minimalism. They chose her Claudia Gerinifor a strapless dress with jewel detail ton sur ton; And Cailee Spaenythe Priscilla by Sofia Coppola, on a dress with thin straps and cut out. What was surprising though Maggie Gyllenhaalwho opted for a three-piece black velvet suit with loafers coordinates, all Giorgio Armani. Total white was an exception instead Micaela Ramazzottiin a tight-fitting creation, with a train and an open back illuminated by crystals and rhinestones.

The red carpet of the Lagoon has always been the most spectacular and admired stage for Italian fashion houses and designers. A union that has been further strengthened this year given the absence of major Hollywood stars (apart from a few exceptions), who remained overseas due to the actors’ and screenwriters’ strike. So, designer creations took turns conquering the catwalk Giorgio Armani – traditionally one of the most worn in Venice -, Alberta Ferretti, Valentine, Prada, Fendi And Miu Miu.

Among the looks sported by the stars, the timeless charm of the outfit stands out total black, available in bon ton, sophisticated or ultra sensual versions, for all ages. There was no shortage of golden and metallic flashes (first and foremost those of the Balenciaga dress chosen by Isabelle Huppert); tips of Barbie pink and light blue accents. Alongside delicate and ethereal silhouettes, often in white, beige or ivory, the outfits dominated fire red, the trendiest color this season. From Benedetta Porcaroli in Prada to Georgina Rodriguez in Vetements, passing through Mariacarla Boscano in Dolce&Gabbana and Caterina Murino in Giorgio Armani Privè, the trend is to match the red carpet.

See you next year.
