A few days after the end of the 2023 summer transfer period, Eintracht Frankfurt surprisingly announced the first new signing for the next season.
As the Hessians announced on Tuesday evening, the Hungarian U21 national player Krisztian Lisztes will switch from the capital city club Ferencvaros Budapest to SGE next summer. The offensive talent signed there until 2029.
Lisztes’ father of the same name played in the Bundesliga. The now 47-year-old once played for VfB Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Eintracht sports director Timmo Hardung was proud to have convinced the highly talented youngster of the Frankfurt way despite well-known competition.
“Krisztián Lisztes hasn’t just been the focus of our attention in recent months. It’s all the more important that we’re going to fill an important squad position in our plans with another highly talented player at this early stage,” said the official in a Club message quoted.
Eintracht Frankfurt expects “intensity, dynamism and goal threat”
The now 18-year-old celebrated his first division debut for Ferencvaros in May 2022 at the age of 17 and won his first major title last season by winning the league. In 21 appearances so far, he has collected nine points (seven goals, two assists).
Hardung wants Lisztes to “show good prospects at Eintracht Frankfurt” in the future. He is spending the current season with his training club, with which he is taking part in the UEFA Conference League.
“We are convinced that Krisztián will initially continue his development in a familiar environment and get even more competition practice,” said the sporting director.
From the 2024/2025 season, the Hungarian should cause a sensation on the Main “with all his intensity, dynamism and direct and indirect goal threat”.
