Germany: Exports fall in July

WIESBADEN (dpa-AFX) – German foreign trade got off to a weak start in the second half of the year. In July, exports fell by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, as the Federal Statistical Office announced on Monday in Wiesbaden. On average, analysts had expected an even sharper decline of 1.5 percent. Imports, on the other hand, rose by 1.4 percent, a slight decline had been expected here. Compared to the same month last year, exports and imports were down, and imports even fell in double-digit percentage terms./bgf/zb
