Eline Vedder from Ruinerwold is number two on the provisional candidate list of the CDA for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The CDA presented the advisory list for the elections today. Henri Bontenbal is on one, Derk Boswijk on three, Inge van Dijk on four and Harmen Krul on five.
The final electoral list will be drawn up on 23 September during the election congress of the CDA in Den Bosch.
The 44-year-old Vedder has not been in the House of Representatives for very long. It was installed in May this year. She succeeded Jaco Geurts who started as acting mayor of Maasdriel. “From May 10, I can strengthen the House of Representatives for the CDA with a dose of down-to-earth Drenthe common sense,” she said at the time.
Vedder runs a dairy farm with her husband. She was previously a Member of Parliament for the CDA and a board member of LTO Netherlands.
In June, Vedder made the news because the telephone numbers of CDA members had been shared online. Vedder indicated that she then received non-stop calls and text messages with ‘advice’ and the consequences if she did not follow the ‘advice’. “A call for mass harassment makes me now consider becoming more difficult to reach,” she said on Twitter.
