Despite major financial problems, the Spanish soccer champions FC Barcelona struck twice on the transfer market.

Barca have loaned out Portugal internationals Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid and Joao Cancelo from Manchester City until the end of the season. The club announced this on Friday evening.

According to media reports, the Catalans around the German internationals Ilkay Gündogan and Marc-Andre ter Stegen were not allowed to secure any purchase options for the duo in view of financial fair play.

Attacker Joao Felix switched from Benfica to Atletico in 2019 for 127 million euros, but disappointed there and played on loan at Chelsea last season.

Right-back Joao Cancelo was loaned to FC Bayern in the second half of the past year, but the German record champions did not take the option to buy the rumored 70 million euros.
