Luca Orlandi, a 55-year-old engineer from Friuli, had barricaded himself in his home after the authorities had notified him of a provision on the withdrawal of weapons. This morning negotiations between the soldiers of the Arma and the man resumed, who refused to hand over the weapons and ammunition that he could no longer hold not having produced the documentation for the renewal of the permit. The turning point came around 11.30 when the negotiator has convinced the man to surrender and hand over weapons and ammunition.

The 55-year-old engineer would now be calm. “There is great satisfaction for this epilogue” he explained to theHandle the provincial commander of the carabinieri, Roberto Spinola. “I want to thank the staff who allowed this epilogue that we all hoped for and who worked, relentlessly, for over 50 hours”. The commander then announced the release of a press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, “the only deputy to release the details of the story and its conclusion”. The thirteen people who live in the same building where the engineer lives have spent the night in structures made available by the Municipality.
