Joan Soler, member and manager responsible for youth football at FC Barcelona, has represented the Barcelona entity this Thursday in the draw for the group stage of the Champions League at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco together with former player Bojan Krkic.
Soler, in statements to the Movistar + Champions League, assessed the draw with the following words: “The goal is to get excited to push forward and get through the group stage because we haven’t been able to do it for two years.”
The Barcelona director added that “We fully respect all the teams that have touched us because they are all champions of the leagues of their countries. But we have to pass the group stage.”
Regarding the group, he also commented that “Our rivals are important, but not as complicated as in the two previous years. Afterwards, God will say if we pass.”
For Soler, “Barça has the team to play all the competitions, so we will go out and compete in all the ones we take part in”.
He excused the presence of the president Joan Laporta and the football director, Deco: “They are working in Barcelona. Hectic hours await us. They are working very hard to make the team as competitive as possible. Joao Félix? This is a question for those who are in Barcelona, not for me.”
