Restaurant “mama” in Wormerveer will no longer open its doors for the time being. The building had to close for two weeks earlier, but due to ignoring this order, the restaurant must now remain closed indefinitely. The owner has been arrested.
Last year, during a check, it was found that four slot machines were present, while only two are licensed. The owner was given time by the municipality of Zaanstad to remove the two other machines, but did not do so.
Ignore closure
At that time it was also established that the catering company was open to the public and that no manager was present. This is prohibited. The tent therefore had to ‘remain sealed’ for two weeks from August 18. The locks had also been changed.
On August 22, the municipality received a notification that the catering company would still be open to the public. The supervisor saw that the seal had been broken and the locks had been replaced. The tune started again with a new seal and change of locks.
Owner arrested
On the same day, the municipality was again informed that the business had reopened and people were present in the restaurant. The supervisors saw that the seal had been broken again, after which the municipality filed a report. The owner has been arrested and the business has since been closed indefinitely.
