Xavi Simons helps RB Leipzig with the first goal in Bundesliga to a big win over Stuttgart | Foreign football

With videoXavi Simons has scored his first goal in the Bundesliga. The twenty-year-old top talent made it 5-1 for RB Leipzig against VfB Stuttgart tonight.

The visitors from the south of Germany took the lead after 35 minutes via Serhou Guirassy in the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig. The young and energetic team of trainer Marco Rose disappointed in the first half, but turned it around completely after the break with five hits. After goals from Benjamin Henrichs, Dani Olmo, Loïs Openda and Kevin Kampl, Xavi Simons made it 5-1 in the 76th minute.

After a good through ball from Openda, Simons went alone to Alexander Nubel, but he made a good save. The ball then came back to Simons, who then managed to find the goal with his right and celebrated his goal exuberantly with his teammates. Simons had also provided the assist for the 2-1 of the Spanish playmaker Dani Olmo.

RB Leipzig had started the new season in the Bundesliga last week with a 3-2 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen, where Jeremie Frimpong opened the score. Simons was then taken off in the 62nd minute. Two weeks ago, the four-time Oranje-international played 78 minutes against Bayern Munich, which was defeated 0-3 in the Allianz Arena in the battle for the German Supercup by a hat-trick by Dani Olmo. RB Leipzig won the German Cup in the past two seasons, but also wants to participate in the title fight in the Bundesliga until the end of this season.

RB Leipzig sold this summer with defender Joško Gvardiol (Manchester City), Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool), Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) and Alexander Sørloth (Villarreal) for 240 million euros to players. Of this, 150 million euros was spent on new players. In addition to Loïs Openda (for 38.5 million euros from RC Lens) and Xavi Simons (rented from Paris Saint-Germain), Castello Lukeba, Christoph Baumgartner, Benjamin Sesko, Nicolas Sewald and El Chadaille Bitshiabu also came to Leipzig this summer.
