It has also not escaped Johan Derksen’s attention that there is some jealousy here and there about the enormous success of Today Inside. What does he think of Tijs van den Brink’s mean remarks?
Not Eva Jinek, not Sven Kockelmann, not Sophie Hilbrand and certainly not Tijs van den Brink: none of them manage to generate as much publicity and commotion with their talk shows as the major competitor Deze Inside. Johan Derksen’s opinion echoes everywhere and that causes some annoyance for Op1 apostle Tijs.
Tis pissed
Tijs is a bit annoyed that there are so many articles in the media about what Johan has now called out in VI. That, according to him, is immensely uninteresting. “It is made so important. Who cares what Johan Derksen thinks of Dilan Yesilgöz?”, he roared on the radio.
Entertainment connoisseur Bart Ettekoven thinks it’s a bit false. He says in Show news: “He is a bit unkind about the men of VI, especially Johan Derksen, who can of course be quite spicy from time to time, especially when it comes to politicians. And Tijs says: ‘I don’t care what the men think.’”
John responds
What does Johan himself think of it? “Yes, look, the man is most right in the world,” he begins in the show section. “Look, I was an average footballer, but I do have an opinion. That’s just my opinion and if people find it entertaining then we have viewers, so that’s why I’m here, but it’s not gospel what I’m saying.”
He concludes with a sneer: “But I do understand Tijs. He has a serious opinion program and nobody takes that seriously anymore. And we do it off the cuff here and then there are people who take it seriously.”
‘Do not understand’
Political expert Frits Huffnagel does not understand Tijs. “I don’t really understand what Tijs is worried about. I think we will see all those list leaders at both VI and Op1 and at VI it will be in a different way. I think they can have an influence, because if party leaders are there, they are approached in a different way.”
Contrary to Tijs, Natacha Harlequin also thinks that the men do have influence. “I think so. I definitely think it has an impact, because without restrictions they just say what some people on the couch also feel.”
No format
The men of VI speak much more the language of the viewer, concludes Natacha. “They don’t have a format that doesn’t allow that or where agreements have been made with certain parties over the years, so people are watching and thinking: all three gentlemen say exactly what we think.”
That leads to even more attention. “Then it comes back in all kinds of sections and then it’s just about that. So I definitely think so.”
