A suspicious package was discovered last night at the Scheper Hospital on Boermarkeweg in Emmen. Several emergency services arrived on the scene. The package would have been deposited around eleven o’clock in the evening.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of Defense examined the package. In the end it turned out not to be dangerous material. According to spokesman Bart Raaijmakers of the Drenthe Security Region, there was reasonable doubt, which is why the emergency services were called and the package was then examined.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage to determine who put the package down. No further announcements are made about the contents of the package, because according to the police this is ‘perpetrator information’.
