Trump trial will start on March 4, if it is up to the prosecutor | Abroad

Trump and 18 other defendants, including his former attorney Rudy Giuliani, and Mark Meadows, his former White House chief of staff, were indicted Monday by a grand jury in Atlanta for attempting to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. The defendants must appear before authorities in Atlanta by August 25. Then personal data will be collected and police photos taken: that procedure could take place in a prison.

It has not yet been determined whether the Georgia judge will approve the proposed date for the trial to begin. That date falls in the middle of the election campaign: Trump will make another shot at the presidency in 2024.

The 77-year-old billionaire was previously charged with paying hush money to a porn star (in New York state), withholding secret documents (in Miami state) and for possible election fraud plus his role in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021 (in Washington State).
