The expectations they are almost more important in politics than actual data. Alberto Núñez Feijóo clearly won yesterday’s elections and added 136 deputies, 47 more than Pablo Casado achieved in 2019. But he has little chance of being Prime Minister, since he has achieved them largely thanks to Vox which has remained at 33. And the sum does not reach the absolute majority and only the abstention of the PSOE could lead him to Moncloa because the rest of possible partners are insufficient as well as unfeasible. Pedro Sánchez, on the other hand, achieved results well above expectations, both his own at the time of calling the elections and the polls. All in all, the coalition parties and their partners have lost seats compared to 2019 and they inevitably need, actively or passively, those who voted for them then at the investiture and those who have done so subsequently or have never done so, as is the case of Junts. Thus, as long as there is no dialogue between the PP and PSOE, the possibility of an effective blockade and a repetition of the elections should not be ruled out in any case.
