Bundesliga relegated Hertha BSC has slightly expanded its extremely tight financial leeway. The Berliners have given top earner Krzysztof Piatek to the Turkish first division club Basaksehir FK, where the Polish striker will sign until 2026.
According to media reports, he will change without immediate fee, but Hertha will receive performance-related bonuses in the future.
Piatek came to the Spree from AC Milan in January 2020 for 24 million euros and played 58 competitive games in which he scored 13 goals. It was awarded to Florence and Salernitana, now the final farewell is certain.
“We found a good solution together with Krzysztof,” said sports director Benjamin Weber. Piatek thanked “all those responsible and the fans for my time in Berlin”.
