A very large fire is raging in the old building of the Hooghuis Lyceum on the Koornstraat in the center of Oss. The first report of the fire came in to the emergency services around 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
The fire erupted from the roof of the building around 7:30 am, which is now empty, according to a 112 correspondent. By 8 a.m., the fire appeared to be under control. “The big flames were gone by then.”
Smoke
The fire released a lot of smoke. It is still unclear how the fire broke out. According to the 112 correspondent, it seems that the fire only raged in the attic of the building.
The fire brigade fought the fire with various fire trucks and also used a cherry picker and a ladder truck. An ambulance was also called as a precaution, but it seems that it does not need to be deployed.
Municipal monument
