Minister of Mobility Georges Gilkinet (Ecolo) has proposals ready to completely ban night flights at Brussels Airport and thus tackle noise pollution. The goal of the minister is to reduce noise near the airport by 20 percent and to give local residents more peace. For Open Vld, a total ban on night flights is “unworldly and economic madness”, says Member of Parliament Tim Vandenput. Voka also calls Gilkinet’s plan “insane”.
