Not on the Asia-Pacific trip
After goalkeeper Hugo Lloris announced his retirement from the French national team earlier this year, the next long chapter in his career seems to be closing. The 36-year-old and Tottenham Hotspur are likely to part ways shortly after almost eleven years.
The captain is not part of the north Londoners’ pre-season squad for the Asia-Pacific trip. Tottenham announced this on Friday evening. Instead, Lloris was given permission to explore possible transfer options. The goalkeeper, who is tied to “Spurs” until 2024, was recently associated with the Saudi record champions Al-Hilal SFC, PSG and Inter Milan, among others. Spurs have already signed a new man between the posts in Guglielmo Vicario (26; for 20 million euros from FC Empoli).

Lloris came to Tottenham from Olympique Lyon on Deadline Day in the summer of 2012 for €12.6m. In total, Lloris completed 202 games for the “Spurs”, 67 times he did not concede a goal. The goalkeeper is the second-longest-serving professional in Tottenham’s squad after Harry Kane, with only six players in total being more loyal to their clubs in the Premier League.
