Kevin Spacey defends himself in court: “I’m hard to flirt”

An actor accused of a sexual crime Kevin Spacey, 63, heard today, July 13, at the trial. Spacey was able to respond to the stories of four men, according to which the actor had, among other things, sexually abused them or forced them to perform a sexual act.

As before, Spacey again denied all the charges against him. Sky News – magazine, the actor’s lawyer Patrick Gibbs began the questioning session with the first man’s account that Spacey grabbed him so hard in the car that the person almost drove off the road into a ditch.

According to Spacey, it didn’t turn out that way.

– That never happened – I did not intend to commit suicide, Spacey defended himself.

According to the actor, the person was a bachelor, but flirtatious. Over time, Spacey started to touch the man romantically, but according to his own experience, not violently or aggressively.

– I’m hard at flirting, Spacey stated.

Despite the large amount of flirting, the two never had sex, according to Spacey. According to the actress, the man even told her that “this is new to me”.

– The only thing the man made clear was that he did not want to take the situation further. And I respected that, Spacey emphasized.

She said that she was devastated when she heard about the man’s claims. The actress described that it felt as if the man had stabbed her in the back.

Why did you lie to the police?

Finally, we moved on to talk about the story of a former budding actor, according to which Spacey might have drugged and raped her. Spacey denied the actor’s claim.

However, he admitted that he had called the man, but does not remember how he got this phone number. However, during the police interrogation, Spacey had said that he did not recognize the man in question. Spacey justified his contradictory words by saying that at the time he believed everything he told the police.

However, the actor emphasized that his own investigators found the man’s number in Spacey’s call history. This made him realize that he had called her. According to Spacey, investigators had discovered that Spacey had called the man on a different day than he had said.

The Hollywood star remembered being shocked when he first heard about the man’s accusations from the police in 2019.

– The story didn’t make sense to me. If I’m interested in someone, the first thing I want is for them to feel comfortable.

According to Spacey, the story made him remember one incident when a male figure was at his apartment in London. At that time, the actress had a sexual experience with the man in question, after which she went to the bathroom, but when she returned, she noticed that something had changed. According to him, the man became strange and said something about going to the bus stop.

– In my opinion, we had a nice and delightful evening. If he regretted it immediately … I don’t know, I can’t speak for him, but something was wrong, Spacey stated.

According to Spacey, he was worried about the man, and decided to call him as soon as he left. The call in question appears in Spacey’s call history.

The four-week trial will deal with the charges against Spacey, which relate to alleged sexual offenses against four men. The charges include, among other things, sexual assaults and forcing a sexual act without consent. The alleged events date from 2001–2013. Spacey has denied the charges brought against him.

If found guilty, Spacey faces prison terms. If he is found not guilty, some news agencies believe it could boost Spacey’s acting career.

The men who made the accusations are now in their thirties and forties. At the time of the alleged crimes, Spacey has mainly lived in Britain and worked as the artistic director of a theater in London. This is why the trial is being held in London.
