Estavana Polman, Rafael van der Vaart’s girlfriend, rebuked Rutger Castricum live in the talk show De Oranjezomer last night. “That’s a bit ugly what you’re saying now.”
Handball player Estavana Polman has just returned from a busy television trip. She is the new presenter of the TV show Beter Laat Dan Nooit and she was allowed to tell something about that at the table at De Oranjezomer last night. There she sat between two gentlemen: Raymond Mens and Rutger Castricum. She had a little trouble with that last one.
Bit ugly
At one point Rutger makes an ugly remark about women’s sports and of course you shouldn’t bring that up at Estavana. The presenter: “I played football for 25 years and I am now 44 and I really enjoy watching women’s football now, because then I think: yes, I can do that too. haha. I can do that too.”
Estavana can’t really appreciate such a comment as a professional handball player: “Well, that’s a bit ugly what you’re saying now.”
Be nice
Rutger laughs: “I’m still keeping track of this, so to speak. Five passes, shot on goal and it’s always goal. I can do that too.”
Estavana seriously: “No, now you have to… No, now you’re acting ugly. Now we must be nice. No, because it is…”
Rutger: “I mean, I don’t think you can say it anymore in this day and age, but I just really can’t look at it.”
Estavana: “That’s good, isn’t it? Then you can continue to zap, right?”
‘I’m zapping too!’
Rutger then: “Yes, exactly. So that’s what I do.”
Estavana does not think it is appropriate to talk so condescendingly about women’s football. “It is the same energy, they train so much. And if you don’t look at it, yes…”
Rutger: “That is also very good, I also think it is important that it is there and good that they all do it, but I do understand that seven or eight out of ten people in the Netherlands do not look at it. I get that.”
