Heavy fire burns brasserie in Kachtem

Just before 3 o’clock this night, the manager of the brasserie was awakened by the burglar alarm. When he arrived, he couldn’t see through the thick black smoke. He immediately informed the fire brigade. They first went inside to fight the flames, but were forced to retrace their steps. The top floor of the restaurant was completely destroyed by the flames. The ground floor, where the kitchen is located, was largely spared.

Table lamps

A fire expert from the public prosecutor’s office has already arrived to find out the cause. At the place where the fire started, some table lamps were charging. It is believed one of the lamps caught fire.

Terrace

The manager hopes to get back to work as soon as possible. The kitchen suffered virtually no damage and the terrace area was also spared. People who made a reservation in the brasserie in the near future will be personally notified.
