World Conflict Deaths to Nearly Double by 2022

In 2022, the number of deaths due to conflicts in the world will almost double (+96 percent) to around 238,000. It is the deadliest year due to armed conflict since the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, which killed an estimated 800,000 people in just three months. This is according to the seventeenth report of the Global Peace Index, published today by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
