Code red! Storm Eunice partly shuts down life in Zoetermeer

Storm Eunice is far from at its peak, but it is already causing problems. Trains, buses and trams are canceled and the goods market in Rokkeveen has been canceled. You’d better make sure you’re home before 2 p.m. For your own safety and because there is a good chance that you will not come home by public transport after that time.

From this afternoon, code orange will apply throughout the Netherlands. In the coastal provinces, so also in South Holland, code red even applies. Eunice has already struck in the south of England, code red has also been announced there. Wind gusts of between 100 and 130 kilometers per hour are expected in Delft.

Wind force 10

Eunice is Dudley’s twin sister. They race over Zoetermeer so close together that they are called a twin storm and that is quite unique for the Netherlands. The whole of the Netherlands is in turmoil, because storm Eunice will probably rage over our country with wind force 10 this afternoon.

The NS already announced last night that from 14:00 this afternoon (February 18) no more trains will run in the Netherlands and there have already been significant delays on the track. Tram operator HTM will also cancel all trams from 14:00 this afternoon, including RandstadRail 3 and 4. Bus operator EBS will stop after 13:30 with today’s timetable.

Make sure you are home on time and safe in the house until the storm is over. The peak moment of storm Eunice is between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

We looked for much more for you…
