A Jacquemus fashion show is never a simple show, but a collective experience (readily shared online) that begins with the choice of location. To unveil the Fall Winter 2023/24 collection the French designer has chosen a symbol of the history and culture of the Alps: there Palace of Versailles. A very long walkway along the Grand Canal that crosses the gardens of the residence saw the creations of part of Le Chouchoutitle of the show, term of endearment that indicates puppies and small hobbies. Under the Paris sun and in front of Victoria and David Beckham, Monica Bellucci and Laetitia Casta, the Jacquemus universe came to life.

The Royal Palace which was the home of Louis XIV is one of the most coveted and therefore difficult locations to obtain for a show (Chanel succeeded for the Cruise 2013 collection). «During our first meeting they asked me to explain my idea, they told me that it would not be possible to realize it, but they wanted to hear it. In the end, however, it was possible,” he recalled Simon Porte Jacquemus after the show.
However, the designer did not opt for the iconic Baroque-style salons with gilded finishes and crystal chandeliers, but for the garden of the residence. The stage consisted of a kilometer-long red catwalk while guests watched the parade from small boats moored in the Grand Canal.

There was not only the sovereign played by Kirsten Dunst in the homonymous film by Sofia Coppola among the inspirations for the Fall Winter 2023/24 collection. Jacquemus has also included Lady Diana Spencer, who has fascinated him since he was a child, and Sarah Jessica Parker in the moodboard for the season. Despite some yesteryear references, in fact, the fashion show had its feet firmly planted in the present. The continuous dialogue between contemporaneity and the past it is expressed above all through lingerie, the great protagonist of the fashion show, including mini bras, visible boxers and slips, elevated to a symbol of a delicate yet bold, profoundly French femininity.
