Tina Turner will be honored in New York next month

Tina Turner is to be honored on US Independence Day in New York. The singer, who passed away on May 24, 2023 after a long battle with diseases including colon cancer and kidney problems, will be honored with a spectacular fireworks display at the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks event in New York.

It was announced that thousands of golden firecrackers will cascade over the East River in the so-called “Golden Mile” segment of the event honoring Tina Turner.

Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks is a big summer festival with performances by many artists, various orchestras and a big fireworks display that takes place between East 26th and East 40th Streets in New York and the US broadcasters NBC and Peacock will be televised.

Ashanti, Bebe Rexha, Ja Rule, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, LL Cool J featuring DJ Z-Trip and The Roots are also set to perform at the 47th annual event, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The event will be moderated by American TV stars Rutledge Wood and Zuri Hall.
