Fourth game, fourth defeat: The German volleyball players again missed the longed-for sense of achievement at the end of the second Nations League stop in Rotterdam. The team of national coach Michal Winiarski secured the first set against the previous tail light China, but ultimately had to admit defeat with 1:3 (25:23, 18:25, 19:25, 21:25).
The selection of the German Volleyball Association (DVV) in the VNL is still with only one win from eight games and again failed to score important points for the world rankings on the way to the 2024 Olympics. As penultimate, the DVV team had to let China pass, which passed the Red Lantern on to Cuba.
Only the top eight teams in the 16-strong league qualify for the quarter-finals in Gdansk, Poland. Before that, however, the third and last preliminary round station of the VNL is pending. In Anaheim/USA (July 4th to 9th) the DVV men meet Bulgaria, Argentina, Cuba and France.
