Two police officers who were on duty at the metro station of the capital were beaten by two young men, presumably migrants. The reason for the aggression was the law enforcement officers’ legitimate request to the men to go to the police room to find out their identities. It is reported by the Main Investigation Department for the city of Moscow.
The incident occurred on the evening of February 17 at the Tulskaya metro station. Two law enforcement officers stopped two passengers to check documents. But instead of showing their passports, the men began to behave aggressively – they swung at law enforcement officers, they began to push. As a result, one of them kicked the representative of the authorities, and the second struck the policeman in the face.
Patrolmen detained a 21-year-old young man and took him to the department. An investigator will contact him shortly. The second attacker fled the scene and is now being sought.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under the article “Use of violence against a representative of the authorities.”
