Daniel Sirera It must have been one of the most tense weeks of his political life. After days of pressure from the PSC and the PSOE, the next leader of the PP ranks in the Barcelona City Council has given his four votes to the socialist Jaume Collboni, and thus has made him the new mayor of the city.
Along with those of the PP, the nine votes of the Comuns have been decisive, but in view of the conditions that Sirera has set for the PSC to support it, either those of Ada Colau or the popular ones will end up very disappointed. Because Sirera’s claims collide head-on with what Barcelona en Comú defends and because they question policies that the PSC has supported and defended during the years in which it has shared government with Colau.
The PP’s requests, collected in a document presented days ago, have been sent to the PSC, explain popular sources, who add that the Socialists have assured them that they will assume “a large part& rdquor; of the measures.
Security
In security, the PP requests 1,000 more agents of the Urban Guard and demand 3,000 more from the Mossos for the city, as well as the installation of surveillance cameras in conflictive areas and the creation of an office against the occupation.
In the economic sphere, Sirera calls for, among other things, an administrative simplification plan, suppression of the hotel moratorium and the tourist tax surcharge, and the review of usage plans that limit the opening of new businesses. Commitment to extend business hours and terraces (In that it could coincide with the PSC without many problems).
terraces rate
As for the rate of terraces, which the Socialists have been achieving for some time to be subsidized by 75%, the PP asks that it be reduced.
The document claims that the door-to-door garbage collection system is eliminated and that 1,000 more bins be installed. In mobility, the PP intends an audit of the ‘superillas’, review tactical urbanism and that motorcycles can circulate on the bus lane.
Among the claims stands out that of not connecting the tram through the Diagonal. Collboni opened his campaign to postpone these works, although not to rule them out. The PP demands that the Tram Blau circulate again, that the bike lanes be reviewed and those of Via Augusta and Ganduixer be immediately abolished, as well as lowering the Blue Zone.
