A cyclist was seriously injured on the Weerdinger Canal in Nieuw-Weerdinge this afternoon after a collision with a motorist. How that happened is not known. The cyclist was taken to hospital with his injuries.
The road was closed to traffic in both directions. The motorist was unharmed.
