Brother of Zara Rutherford wants to break world record with solo flight

Mack wants to break the world record and become the youngest male pilot to have flown around the world. Currently, this record is held by 18-year-old Briton Travis Ludlow.

“Indescribable feeling”

The same title, but for the women, has been in the name of Mack’s 19-year-old sister Zara since a few weeks ago.

Mack obtained his pilot’s license in 2020 when he was fifteen years old and has already racked up many flying hours. For example, he undertook two transatlantic crossings with his father. Mack and Zara’s mother is also a pilot. According to Mack, he had dreamed of becoming a pilot since he was three years old. “It’s just indescribable, I’ve always loved it,” said the young pilot. He will start his solo flight in the spring and – unlike his sister – will travel from east to west, making more stops in Africa.
