In May and June, HTM will replace 1 kilometer of rails. This takes place between the Seghwaert and Leidsewallen stops, and between Driemanspolder and Meerzicht.
Track maintenance
The rails of the HTM track must be replaced every so often due to wear. “This is for safety reasons,” explains spokesperson Marijke Poppelier. “We have previously carried out the same work on Laan van Meerdervoort in The Hague, for example. Travelers may have a slightly longer travel time because of this.”
Tram 3 will continue to run
The work on the track will take place in two phases with a duration of ten days per phase. The work takes place both during the day and at night.
RandstadRail 3 will continue to run during the work, but then either clockwise or counterclockwise. Tram 4 will run according to the normal timetable.
The work will take place on these dates:
- Saturday, May 27, 2 a.m. to Monday, June 5, 5 a.m
RandstadRail tram 3 only drives ‘left’ (Dorp, Delftsewallen, Driemanspolder, Meerzicht and Voorweg) - Saturday, June 10, 2 a.m. to Monday, June 19, 5 a.m
RandstadRail tram 3 only drives ‘clockwise’ (City Hall, Palenstein, Seghwaert, Leidsewallen, Leyens and Buytenwegh)
Plan your trip in advance and see which route is fastest for you during this period. Sometimes it pays to change trains along the way at the next stop or on tram 4.
