It is inevitable that Princess Beatrix is also particularly annoyed by the royal relationship with the discredited TV star Gordon, says Angela de Jong. “He’s not happy about that.”
Just before Gordon started his current Instagram break, almost a month ago, he flew with DJ Don Diablo and Prince Bernhard Jr. to the Formula 1 race in Baku. According to Evert Santegoeds, King Willem-Alexander is very disappointed by the royal association with Gordon and Angela de Jong thinks he is not the only one.
What does Beatrix think?
As queen, Princess Beatrix always thought it was very important to keep an appropriate distance from the common people, in order to maintain the royal fairy tale a bit. For that reason, for example, she will certainly be annoyed that Countess Eloise recently appeared on television in a bathing suit, Angela says in the AD Media podcast.
She says: “I wondered aloud if Beatrix would like this. Beatrix who thought that her sons should not marry a commoner girl. Beatrix who thought that her sister should not marry a civilian boy. Beatrix who thought that there should be as much distance as possible between the people and the royal family to maintain the magic.”

Angela states that Beatrix is critical of this. “Beatrix now sees that her son is the least popular royal all time in Dutch history. Would she be very happy with the fact that her granddaughter is participating in a program there as an ordinary celebrity? Really, I dare to doubt it. Well, they should know that for themselves.”
Colleague Manuel Venderbos: “But isn’t that in the same category as Bernhard junior with Gordon in the photo?”
Angela agrees. “I think so too, that grandma Beatrix is not very happy about that.”
Aunt Bea
The family relationship is somewhat different, says Angela. Beatrix is Eloise’s grandmother, but not Bernhard’s. “In that case it is of course not his grandmother, but the aunt. You shouldn’t rub too much into the entertainment world, Angela thinks. “You can also see it: the more normal they start to behave, the more criticism there is. And that is what Jeroen Snel meant.”
Vomit sound
Angela has nothing to do with the celebrity protest that was set up against Jeroen Snel. Stars appeared in bathing suits and wrote: ‘Is this allowed by Jeroen Snel?’. “All those celebrities who again stand in a bathing suit and think: how can I make this about me? ‘Oh boys, give me five minutes of fame too.’ I stick my tongue out and I make a vomit sound.”
What is striking about all those celebrities who posed in bathing suits? Rob Goossens in the BLVD Podcast: “If you look at who was at the forefront of that battle… Robbert Rodenburg, with us of course Mandy Woelkens, Jan Versteegh, Britt Dekker… They were all people who are in the same management as Eloise. Underdog
That sounds suspicious. Rob: “I thought: it will not be an orchestrated action, but of course it does not suit Eloise commercially at all, because she is kind of the underdog and she has only gained more followers.”
