The Junts candidate has appealed this Sunday in the district of Sant Andreu to the useful vote against the mayoress of Barcelona
The candidate for mayor of Barcelona of together for Catalonia, Xavier Triashas appealed this Sunday, a week before the elections, to the useful vote of those who want to “throw out Colau” while accusing the mayoress of being willing to be invested with Vox votes, according to the EFE agency. .
Trias has affirmed it in an electoral act held in the Barcelona district of Sant Andreu, where JxCat obtained 7.7% of the votes in the 2019 municipal electionsfalling behind Ciudadanos (11.3%), PSC (20.7%), ERC (22.6%) and Barcelona en Comú, which was the force with the most votes there with 23.2%.
“There are some who are not one of us, who do not agree with our ideas, who do not want to vote for us, but who do not want Colau to govern. I appeal to them, I ask for their useful vote, because we are the only ones who say that we will not do mayoress to Colau”, Trias said in his speech before the hundred supporters who gathered this morning in Plaça d’Orfila in the Sant Andreu district.
Expanding on his attack on Colau, Trias has accused her of being willing to do anything to govern and accept the votes of any party in a hypothetical investiture session: “Who tells us that you will not accept the votes of Vox? If you have already accepted those of Valls, you can also do so with those of Vox, because after all, Valls and Vox are first cousins“.
The former mayor has insisted on proclaiming himself the only option to replace the current mayoress: “If you vote wrong, they (Colau and Collboni) rule: because now they pretend they are fighting but they have been governing together for four years and they follow him doing”.
build together
Looking for a mayoral profile, Trias has devoted a good part of his speech to explaining that to build the city “it will be necessary to talk to everyone”.
“If we win and govern, there will be many people who will not be in favor of us. We will have to be close to these people, listen to them and convey to them that we are going to build the city together,” said the man who was mayor of the city between 2011 and 2015. .
No to the ‘door to door’
As for the proposals for Barcelona, Trias has addressed the same flanks that he has focused on throughout the campaign: he has promised to change the management of cleaning, security and mobility.
“We have to change the way Barcelona is managed and make people feel proud of the city again. We are going to work for the well-being of the people. And well-being requires economic growth and a commitment to industry, tourism, services and new technologies”, said the head of the JxCat list in the Catalan capital.
Regarding the promises for the district of Sant Andreu, where the electoral act was held, Trias recalled that when he ran for the first time in the elections, in 2003, “it was said that the remodeling of the surroundings of the station La Sagrera was going to be finished in 2008”: “We are in 2023 and it hasn’t finished yet”.
“If we win, we will be demanding with the central government in the management of the Sagrera works,” Trias added.

Finally, regarding the polls, which generally point to a three-way tie with Collboni and Colau, Trias has dismissed them, stating that “they are done politically”: “Our polls tell us that we will win widely.”
