At least nine people died in a stampede at a soccer stadium in El Salvador.
In addition, several injured fans were taken to hospitals near the stadium Cuscatlan brought in the capital San Salvador, as the police of the Central American country announced. At least two of the injured were therefore in mortal danger.
The newspaper “La Prensa Graphica” from El Salvador described the panicked scrum on the sidelines of Alianza FC’s Premier League game against CD FAS as “human avalanche”, which led to the death of the nine fans. In order to facilitate the work of the rescue workers, the game was canceled. According to initial information from the police, the panic broke out when fans tried to get into the stadium.
